2010 Volkswagen Passat

Carsabi Fair Price

$21,792

The first Volkswagen Passat in 1990 had no grille and was similar to the Ford Taurus of the time. The four-cylinder was anemic, and although possessing a spacious interior, many would want to wait for the VR6. The 2nd generation Passat was more rounded, had a grille, and also offered Volkswagen’s now accepted luxurious feel. Available as either a sedan or a wagon, power ranged from 170 HP to 270 HP, with front or all-wheel drive. Starting in 2006, the 3rd generation was more powerful with about 10 HP more than the previous generation. It also had an auxiliary audio jack and dual zone climate control. The all-new Passat has been designed to be bigger and simultaneously more price competitive - which leaves quality a bit tertiary. Styling is less flashy, and more buttoned down, and a TDi version gets more than 40 MPG, though speed is nothing to write home about in the new model.
