Carsabi Fair Price

$19,462

The Honda Accord has been one of America’s most popular cars, and set the standard for midsize cars from 1982 to 1997. Launched in the U.S. in 1976, it began as a compact hatchback with an anemic engine, but great mileage and decent features. A sedan, the most common variant, came in 1977, and the 2nd generation got a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual mated to a four-cylinder engine. The 1986-1989 Honda Accord line had the angular lines of the time but mostly the same engines. It became a midsize sedan from 1990-1993, and was available as a station wagon, coupe or sedan with a new engine and the now familiar DX, LX and EX trim lines. From 1993-1997, there was a slight update in styling, and anti-lock brakes available in the top two trim lines, and a V6 finally came in 1995. Until 2002, the DX had no audio system or power systems for windows and locks. The 7th and 8th generations offered more power, along with the VTEC system for more power at high RPM, as well as a full-size designation and power up to 272 HP and a larger grille and a plug-in hybrid in the 9th generation.
