2010 Ford Explorer

Carsabi Fair Price

$24,213

While the Ford Explorer has long been the midsize SUV of choice with body-on-frame construction, it is now a unibody system, like a car. When it started in 1991, the Ford could be purchased in either two- or four-door versions. These included Explorer XL, XLT and Sport, with later years also offering Eddie Bauer editions. Power windows and other interior parts were available in the XLT, while the Eddie Bauer edition added a better interior. Horsepower for a V6 (the only engine available until 1995) was about 160 HP. Airbags and a rounded exterior were available in 1995, as was an updated 4WD system. It got a V8 in 1997, though the tire recall from Firestone was also a big deal. After 2002, ABS and side curtain airbags were available, and a new body style came in 2006, and then again with a new grille shape in 2013.
